Product Details

Welcome to Plant&Leaf and our range of family grown plants. The first three photos serve as a representative display of mature plants in bloom (seeds collected from our own trees here!), showcasing the beauty of a mature plant. The last photo provides a sample of a single plant from the current batch available. Please note the Pot size displayed on the heading of each product.

All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.

Frangipani, also known as Plumeria, are a beautiful flowering plant famous for its fragrant blooms and tropical appearance. Here's how to grow and care for Frangipani:

  1. Climate: Frangipani thrive in warm, tropical climates. It requires plenty of sunlight and warmth to bloom profusely. If you live in a region with colder winters, consider growing Frangipani in containers so you can move it indoors during the colder months.

  2. Light: Frangipani require full sun to bloom abundantly. Choose a sunny spot in your garden where the plant will receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

  3. Soil: Frangipani prefer well-draining soil with good aeration. A mix of sandy soil and organic matter, such as compost or orchid bark, works well. Avoid heavy clay soils that retain too much water, as this can cause root rot.

  4. Watering: While Frangipani is drought-tolerant once established, they still require regular watering, especially during dry periods. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

  5. Fertilization: Feed your Frangipani with a balanced fertilizer formulated for flowering plants during the growing season (spring and summer). Apply the fertilizer according to the package instructions, and avoid fertilizing during the winter months when growth slows down.

  6. Pruning: Prune Frangipani to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead or damaged branches and spent flowers. Pruning can be done during the dormant season, typically in late winter or early spring, before new growth emerges.

  7. Pest and Disease Control: Frangipani are relatively pest and disease resistant, but it can occasionally be affected by spider mites, aphids, or fungal diseases. Keep an eye out for any signs of infestation or disease, and treat them promptly with insecticidal soap or fungicides if necessary.

  8. Overwintering: If you live in a colder climate, you may need to protect your Frangipani from frost during the winter months. Consider growing it in a container so you can move it indoors to a bright, sunny location during the colder months.

With proper care and attention to its growing requirements, Frangipani can reward you with beautiful blooms and a tropical ambiance in your garden or home.
