All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.

Adelonema are a popular houseplant valued for its attractive foliage and ease of care. Here's how to keep Adelonema thriving:

1. Light: Adelonema plants prefer bright, indirect light. They can tolerate lower light conditions, but too much shade may result in leggy growth and reduced leaf coloration. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

2. Temperature: Adelonema plants thrive in temperatures between 18°C to 27°C. They are sensitive to cold drafts, so keep them away from doors, windows, and air conditioning vents during the winter months.

3. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water your Adelonema when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, and reduce watering in the winter when growth slows down. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

4. Humidity: Adelonema plants prefer moderate to high humidity levels. Increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, placing a humidifier nearby, or grouping plants together to create a humid microclimate. Proper humidity helps prevent leaf browning and promotes healthy growth.

5. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. A blend of peat moss, perlite, and compost works well for Adelonema plants. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

6. Fertilization: Feed your Adelonema with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can cause salt buildup in the soil and damage the plant.

7. Pruning: Remove any yellow, damaged, or dead leaves regularly to maintain the plant's appearance and health. Prune leggy stems to encourage bushier growth. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to make clean cuts.

8. Repotting: Repot your Adelonema as needed, typically every 1-2 years or when it outgrows its current container. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and refresh the soil to provide fresh nutrients.

9. Pest Control: Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. If you notice any signs of infestation, treat the plant with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
