Shipping Costs

All orders are shipped via Australia Post Express to help ensure your plants arrive as quickly and safely as possible.

Authority to Leave

All parcels are sent with Authority to Leave by default.

If your delivery address is often unattended, or parcel theft is a concern in your area, please select the Signature Required option during checkout.

All plants are shipped complete in their pots unless otherwise stated in the listing. Bare-rooted plants are very rarely sent and will always be clearly noted where applicable.

Adding to an Existing Order

If you would like to add additional plants to an existing order, please email us with the items you wish to include and we can arrange this manually where possible.

Alternatively, you may place a second order and then email us to request that the orders be combined.

Please note:

  • If multiple orders are placed and no request to combine them is received, the orders will be shipped separately.
  • We no longer automatically combine separate orders, as some customers prefer to receive multiple parcels individually.
When do orders get posted?

When will my order be posted?

Orders received Monday through to Sunday are generally packed and posted on the Monday or Tuesday of the following week.

This schedule helps ensure your plants are prepared, packed, and shipped in the best condition possible for safe delivery.

Please Note

All orders are sent with Express Post only. Please wait till you receive your tracking number when your order is fulfilled. I do not control the post office so although Express Post is always used, it is up to Australia Post how fast or slow the delivery time is.

How is the order shipped

This can vary depending on the plant ordered, some are sent in pots, others bare rooted.

Where possible, every plant is packed and posted in its own pot.

Most plants in pots larger than 100mm are sent partially bare rooted in Australia Post shipping boxes. If we can leave the pot in we will, but please expect that you may receive plants with no pot sand roots carefully wrapped up for shipping.

Larger plants may have some of the leaves trimmed to fit in the box however we will usually make this known in the product description.

If you have a PO box, its recommended that you have it shipped there for safety reasons.

Shipping methods may vary depending on the type and size of the plant ordered.

In most cases, plants are shipped complete in their pots to provide the best possible outcome during transit and to minimise stress on the plant.

Some plants may occasionally be shipped bare rooted where appropriate or where specified in the product listing. Any bare-rooted plants will always be clearly noted on the listing prior to purchase.

Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email containing your tracking details.

All orders will receive:

  • an Order Confirmation email,
  • a Shipping Fulfilment email with Tracking number.

If you have placed an order and have not received any emails from us, please check your Junk or Spam folder, as automated emails may occasionally be filtered there by your email provider.

Where do we ship?

We currently ship within Australia to the following states and territories only:

  • Queensland (QLD)
  • New South Wales (NSW)
  • Victoria (VIC)
  • South Australia (SA)
  • Australian Capital Territory (ACT)

Unfortunately, due to quarantine and biosecurity restrictions, we are unable to ship directly to:

  • Western Australia (WA)
  • Northern Territory (NT)
  • Tasmania (TAS)

Customers located in restricted states are welcome to arrange a third-party plant concierge or quarantine forwarding service, and we can ship your order to the provider of your choice within our approved shipping areas.

Pickup

NO PICKUPS CAN BE DONE TILL THE 15th May 2026.

If you would like to pick up your plants instead of having them shipped, we have partnered with Sanlay plants in Gordonvale to pick up your online order. This is to make it more convenient as we are quite far from cairns.

How

Email us at admin@plantandleaf.com.au for a special code to enter at checkout to remove the shipping cost.

When

We drop your orders off to Sanlay Nursery so they can be picked up. Sanlay Nursery is open for pickup:

Thursday : 9am till 4pm

Friday : 9am till 4pm

Saturday : 9am till 4pm

Sunday : 9am till 4pm

CLOSED : MONDAY/TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY and the first Saturday of each month as Sanlay plants is at the Gordonvale Markets and pickup is not available this entire day.

Where

Sanlay plants is located at the end of Hall Road Gordonvale (Number 5). Sanlay Nursery is on Google Maps so you can just search the name to find a direct route there.

Refunds and Returns

Damage during shipping

As live plants are delicate in nature, minor cosmetic damage may occasionally occur during transit. Small imperfections such as slight leaf marks or minor movement-related damage are considered normal during shipping.

If your plant arrives with damage beyond what would be considered minor transit stress, please email clear photos to:

admin@plantandleaf.com.au

within 24 hours of delivery so the issue can be assessed.

Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement, partial refund, or store credit at our discretion.

Variegated plants have no guarantee of perfect arrival as variegated parts of plants are considered delicate and are bought at own risk.

Please note:


  • Variegated plants that naturally develop browning or cosmetic imperfections are not covered under any form of shipping or damage claim.

  • All claims must be submitted with clear photographs for assessment.
Incorrect Address and returned items

Please ensure all shipping details are entered correctly at checkout, as we are unable to change the delivery address once an order has been dispatched.

If a parcel is returned to us due to circumstances such as:

  • an incorrect or incomplete address,
  • failure to collect the parcel,
  • or any delivery issue outside of our control,

additional shipping and return fees charged to us will need to be paid before the order can be resent.

If you choose not to have the order resent, a partial store credit may be offered at our discretion, depending on the condition of the returned plants and associated costs.

Change of Mind

We do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges for change of mind purchases.

Please ensure you carefully review and research your selected plants before placing your order, including suitability, sizing, and growing requirements.

Missing Items

If you believe an item is missing from your order, please email us within 24 hours of delivery at:

admin@plantandleaf.com.au

Your email must include clear photos of:

  • the inside of the box,
  • the packaging materials,
  • and the plants still wrapped as received.

This allows us to properly investigate and assess the order before any packaging has been disturbed.

Please note:

Any claims not reported within 24 hours of the Australia Post recorded delivery time will not be considered.
