All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.

The Geogenanthus is a striking tropical houseplant known for its glossy, almost metallic purple-green leaves. It’s relatively rare in cultivation but not too hard to keep happy once you understand its rainforest origins. Here’s a detailed care guide:

• Ideal: Bright, indirect light. Think dappled forest light.

• Avoid: Direct sunlight—it will scorch the leaves.

• Tolerates: Lower light than many tropicals, but growth slows and colors may dull.

• Keep the soil consistently moist, but never soggy.

• Let the top 1–2 cm of soil dry out before watering again.
  

• Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows.

• Avoid cold, dry air and drafts.

• Prefers 20–27°C
  

• Keep away from heating vents and cold windowsills.
