Welcome to Plant&Leaf and our range of family grown plants. The first photo serves as a representative display, showcasing the beauty of a mature plant. The second photo provides a sample of a single plant from the current batch available. Please note the Pot size displayed on the heading of each product.
All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.
Episcia, also known as Flame Violet, is a beautiful plant in the Gesneriad family (related to African violets). It's known for its vibrant foliage and small, colorful flowers. Here’s how to grow Episcia successfully:
🌱 Basic Growing Requirements
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Light | Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch leaves. Low light can reduce flowering. |
| Temperature | Warm – between 18–27°C. Sensitive to cold drafts. |
| Humidity | High humidity (above 50%). Prefers terrariums or humidity trays if indoor air is dry. |
| Soil | Loose, well-draining mix – like African violet soil or a mix of peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite. |
| Watering | Keep soil lightly moist but not soggy. Water when the top few cm feel dry. Avoid getting water on leaves. |
| Fertilizer | Use a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser every 2–4 weeks during growing season (spring–Autumn). |
