Product Details
Welcome to Plant&Leaf and our range of family grown plants. The first photo serves as a representative display, showcasing the beauty of a mature plant. The second photo provides a sample of a single plant from the current batch available. Please note the Pot size displayed on the heading of each product.
All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.
Sansevieria, also commonly known as Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, is an easy-care indoor plant that tolerates a wide range of conditions. It is particularly well suited to warm climates and is very forgiving of occasional neglect.
☀️ Light
Sansevieria grow well in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate lower-light conditions. Brighter light generally encourages faster growth and stronger colouring. Avoid prolonged harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.
💧 Watering
Allow the potting mix to dry out thoroughly between waterings. Sansevieria are drought tolerant and is much more likely to suffer from overwatering than underwatering. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away.
🌱 Potting Mix
Use a very free-draining mix. A quality indoor plant mix amended with perlite, pumice or coarse bark works well. Good drainage is essential to prevent root and rhizome rot.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Sansevieria enjoy warm conditions and will grow best between 18–30°C. It tolerates normal household humidity and does not require high humidity. Protect from cold temperatures and frost.
🌿 Fertilising
Feed during the warmer growing months with a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength every 4–6 weeks. Reduce or stop fertilising during cooler months when growth slows.
✂️ Maintenance
Remove damaged or yellowing leaves at the base using clean, sharp scissors. Wipe the leaves occasionally to remove dust and keep them looking their best.
