Welcome to Plant&Leaf and our range of family grown plants. The first photo serves as a representative display, showcasing the beauty of a mature plant. The second photo provides a sample of a single plant from the current batch available. Please note the Pot size displayed on the heading of each product.

All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.

Stromanthe is a beautiful plant known for its striking foliage and vibrant colors. To keep your Stromanthe healthy and thriving, here are some care tips:

  1. Light: Stromanthe prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Place your plant near a window with sheer curtains or in a location where it receives filtered light.

  2. Temperature: Stromanthe thrives in temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). It's essential to keep it away from drafts and sudden temperature changes.

  3. Humidity: Stromanthe prefers high humidity levels. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, placing a humidifier nearby, or placing the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Grouping plants together can also help create a humid microclimate.

  4. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water your Stromanthe when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, typically every 1-2 weeks. Ensure proper drainage to prevent water from pooling at the bottom of the pot, which can lead to root rot.

  5. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. A mix formulated for tropical plants or a blend of peat moss, perlite, and compost works well.

  6. Fertilization: Feed your Stromanthe with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant is dormant.

  7. Pruning: Remove any yellow or damaged leaves promptly to maintain the plant's health and appearance. You can also trim leggy stems to encourage bushier growth.

  8. Repotting: Repot your Stromanthe every 1-2 years or when it outgrows its current container. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and refresh the soil to provide fresh nutrients.

  9. Pest Control: Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. If you notice any signs of infestation, gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth or use insecticidal soap to control the pests.

By following these care tips, you can enjoy a vibrant and healthy Stromanthe plant in your home or garden.
